St. John’s, Antigua – August 2026 – The Metropolitan University College of Medicine (MUCM Antigua) is proud to announce that MD Candidate Steve Harripersad, BSc., M.A., has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for delivering a Top-Tier Poster Presentation at the Medical Research Symposium during the Gujarati/Indian Physicians Convention (GPC) 2026.
Held on August 22, 2026, at the Hilton Orlando Resort, Orlando, Florida, the convention recognized Steve among the Top 5 Presenters.
His poster titled “Fermentation-Enhanced Phyllanthus Emblica and Organic Zinc Biocomplexes: A Mechanistic Perspective on Improving Metabolic Function in Type II Diabetes Mellitus” presents innovative research on how fermentation enhances the bioavailability of Indian Gooseberry (Amla) and its synergistic effect with Organic Zinc Biocomplexes to improve glucose control and metabolic function in Type II Diabetes Mellitus.
This national-level recognition underscores the strength of research mentorship and academic excellence at MUCM Antigua.
