St. John’s, Antigua – August 2026 – The Metropolitan University College of Medicine (MUCM Antigua) continued its academic excellence series with a high-impact medical seminar on “Basic Concepts of Addiction Medicine” presented by Dr. Jerry Simon.
Held on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, at 9:00 AM AST in the MD5 Classroom, the seminar was attended by all basic science students and clinical students.
Dr. Simon provided a comprehensive introduction to the principles of addiction medicine, exploring its neurobiology, clinical presentation, and growing importance in modern healthcare. The session highlighted how addiction impacts primary care, emergency medicine, psychiatry, and public health, making it essential knowledge for every future physician.
